Are Xbox 360 Users Unpaid Beta Testers?
Publishing/creating a video game for a new console must be a difficult task; however, I wonder if some publishers are taking advantage of the Xbox 360’s patching capability. In other words, are publishers rushing games out the doors, to meet deadlines, in the hope that they can “fix it later.”
That would seem to be the case with Major League Baseball 2k6 on the 360; because, there is a serious problem in one of the most fundamental places. Whenever you strike a person out, the game freezes on the 360. - This is a big, gargantuan, humongous flaw within the game. Many of my friends who have purchased the game have this problem, so it’s a pretty big issue if I’ve seen a few cases of it, and it’s all over the net.
So, what does 2k sports plan on doing about the issue? well, first they offer you this advise:
1) Remove or disable the HDD
or,
2) Load three different Xbox 360 games to the main title screen of each game then load Major League Baseball 2K6 on Xbox 360. All three Xbox 360 games must be completely different before loading Major League Baseball 2K6.
How can something that’s such a big problem even make it out of the real beta testing? And who in the world was patient enough to come up with the second work around? This is ludicrous.
2k does offer some consolation because they will be coming out with a patch to fix the issue, but it still upsets me that I’m playing a game that’s not finished.

[...] With all that in mind, I was surprised to see freezing issues with Major League Baseball 2k6. There are possible methods to fix it, and a patch is to be released, but I’m hoping this was a one off. Patches for console games? Please, let’s not go down this road. [...]
