Gaming Profit to Shift This Year
Electronic Arts is suggesting that for the 2006 fiscal year 50% of gaming revenue will come from outside of the US.
“This year, more than 50 per cent of our revenue is coming from outside North America,” said Tascan. “Exporting to ‘outside’ is very, very important, and a big part of your business.”
One of the biggest reasons there will be a shift of revenue this year is because more remote countries and regions have HighSpeed internet to fuel online gaming. There is “explosive network technology usage in China” that now includes 260 million internet users.
