Gears of War Hits #1
Gears of War, the highly anticipated game from Microsoft Game Studios, has shocked all expectations of sales. While MS clearly saw it as an answer to the disappointment that Halo 3 is not yet ready, the rest of us just sat back and compared it to Halo, where it came sadly lacking.
But then again, what game doesn’t come up short against Halo. I often wonder if Halo was really all that good or if we are all in love with it for old times sake.
Our own lurid fascination with Halo notwithstanding, Gears of War shocked us when it came up #1 for UK best selling charts this weekend. It’s now the fastest selling XBox 360 game to date and holds the sweet title of 2nd fasted selling XBox game (second to Halo 2). Call of Duty 3 is number 7!
