Remainder of ‘07 To Be Big For Nintendo, Gamers

by Kris on May 12th, 2007

The remaining one half plus of 2007 is shaping to be great for Nintedo and their loyal gamers. Sure the first half wasn’t too bad considering the company reported record earnings and their stock hit an all time high. Oh, and their system everyone doubted for the odd name alone is no where to be found (in stores that is) because new and old, casual and hardcore gamers alike just dig the Wii. But it may get even better if things go according to plan.

By the end of the year Nintendo will be releasing Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Metriod Prime 3 for gamers to feast on. Also, the Wii will be receiving a port of Resident Evil 4 and a host of other games as well. Before the Wii was released doubts abounded as to whether the Wii would be the nail in the coffin for Nintendo’s console business but those fears were put to rest quite handily and Nintendo is on the up-and-up.

Need some pure statistics to get you excited about the end of this year. 45 Wii games and 79 DS titles are all in development currently scheduled to be released before years end. Of course these aren’t all first party titles but with 3 major Nintendo releases coupled by several solid non-Nintendo titles and the Wii’s sales may continue at a blistering pace.

If I were a betting man I’d say the odds are good for stellar numbers to come for Nintendo.
