Loads of Call of Duty 4 Info Leaked
A member of the COD4 Forums has (somehow) come into possession of a list of potential features the game may feature when it is finally released in Q3 of this year. The game is a departure of tradition for the series which, prior to this game, had focused of WWII combat. Among the potential features the game may include on launch are:
- Online co-op play with up to 4 total people
- Helicopter gameplay allowing the player to control a cobra helicopter or be the gunner (also, plane gameplay)
- Mission objectives include: “Rescue captured hostages, photograph dead bodies to identify targets, infiltrate enemy positions, rescue downed allies in enemy territory, and many more.”
- HUD will include GPS which will show all enemies as well as objectives
- 4 player split screen multiplayer with a single system, system link, or XBL
- One click “quick start” online multiplayer
- One level is compared to modern D-day including helicopters, RPGs, and low visibility
- Dynamic difficulty allows the game to adjust to your play (static settings as well)
- Adaptive multiplayer maps allow you to alter the environment allowing you to develop new strategies
- AI animals affecting gameplay
- Traditional co-op
- A true “global war”
- 50 unlockable weapons and upgrades based on stats
- Upgradeable weapons
- Downloadable maps (for a minimal fee)
- Controllable air support
- Destructible environments
- Improved hostage AI
- Urban combat
I really like how this game, unlike others, incorporates a lot of different features in one game. A lot of games I play do one thing really well but lacks else where. I’d personally like to have a well rounded game that does nothing exceptional and everything pretty good then a game that is good on one hand but is just plain lacking it other aspects.

The main thing I want to see changed in Call of Duty: Painfully linear maps
And what’s this about downloadable maps for a price? If they’re going to implement this for the PC version, Infinity Ward must be nuts.
As for XBL, I can’t really say anything about that. Bethesda has done it, but gamers won’t have to like it.
