Ubisoft Still Considering Bid by EA
According to a report from Joystiq Ubisoft, who is already partially owned by EA, is still considering being purchased (or taken over) by gaming giant EA.
Here is what the Ubisoft president said regarding the acquisition talks:
“We’re still considering [an acquisition by EA]. The first option for us is to manage our own company and grow it. The second option is to work with the movie industry, and the third is to merge. We think the market is going to grow fast, and we can take a big share of that market, so we don’t have to change the way things are done at the moment.” – Gamasutra
The quote seems to allude that the deal is not imminent but it could still happen if the price is right. The oft-reported rumor hasn’t happened yet but if it does (or gets closer) I will be sure to have more on the situation.
