Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a perfect game says Famitsu
Whoa . Now where did that come from? I mean, Smash Bros is a entertaining franchise but joining the ranks of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Soulcalibur, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Nintendogs, and Final Fantasy XII? It looks like that delay just got more painful after SSBB snagged the the Holy Grail of gaming accolades from Famitsu.
Honestly, I am extremely surprised at this perfect score. As the third entry into the series, I had my doubts about whether or not the game will feel as fresh and original as the first two titles. Of course, this could still be the situation for reviewers when Brawl finally lands in North America on March 9th, but it’s really hard to look past a perfect score from Famitsu.
Just to think, 24 hours ago, we were agonizing over yet another delay for Brawl. Now it looks like the wait might be well worth it.

Perfect scores in Famitsu doesn’t mean a thing if you know the publication’s practices. Famitsu normally gives a perfect score for huge franchises, so this isn’t an indication of a game’s excellence.
To Famutsu, giving perfect scores is more about fan service than objective journalism.
I’m not saying that Super Smash Bros. Brawl isn’t a good game. What I’m saying is a perfect Famitsu score don’t mean shit.

Like I said, I don’t intend to take anything away from Super Smash Brothers Brawl. In fact, I expect the game to be fantastic.
What I’m saying is that we can’t take Famitsu’s word for it. If you’re familiar with the magazine and its culture, then you must know that it’s reviews for “revered” franchises are mostly marketingspeak.
Their culture in that part of the world is different from yours, so don’t go spewing flame and proclaim the travesty of Gerstmanngate if you find what I’m saying hard to believe.
And there’s no such thing as a “perfect” game, even if there have been Ocarinas that blew people away more than a decade ago.
If there was a “perfect” game, then it should be the only thing we’re playing.
