Buy SimCity Box, Get Spore Creator
IGN is confirming that the soon to be released compilation The SimCity Box will feature some working version of the Spore creature creator. Rumors have been circulating about the addition of the creature creator on both Amazon and Joystiq, as a box image for The SimCity Box emerged with the Spore content promoted in the corner. It does seem to be a neat bonus, maybe i’ll be tempted to pickup the compilation mainly for the Spore content.
The creature creator will let you start designing a species for Spore, which is a sprawling game that could best be described as almost astrobiology in a box. Spore is the much anticipated game from Will Wright, the creator of SimCity and The Sims. In it, you create an alien species that evolves throughout the ages, starting in the primordial soup and ending with interstellar exploration.
We had a chance to see the creature creator in action this past weekend, as EA demonstrated the game at Yuri’s Night, a 12-hour party at the NASA Ames facility to mark the anniversary of the first manned spaceflight. Attendees were welcome to create their own creatures, and many had fun creating alien species with a wide array of different looks.
