This week’s announcement of the upcoming release of Diablo III has spurred new interest in the series, resulting in the Diablo Battle Chest compilation finishing as this week’s best-selling PC software title in the United States. Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Battle Chest also sees increased sales in the days following the announcement. The Sims 2: IKEA Home Stuff eclipses Spore Creature Creator’s weekly North American sales, meanwhile, as The Orange Box rounds out the regional top five.

Yah bro, the same effect as with StarCraft, but Diablo has a greater impact because of all the Blizzy titles, it was the ’shelf’ game (StarCraft is still popular).

Everywhere.. “I started playing Diablo 2 coz of Diablo 3″, some “let’s buy original copies of D2 and wreak havoc on Battle.Net!”

It’s been a while since Diablo II and everyone wants to replay it before the sequel comes out….and most of us have lost our discs. /cry

Not this gamer. ;) My copies are very much intact.

I’m currently using an Assassin, but I’m only at act 2. My first time with this class. Always been a Barbarian. I was tempted to try the Sorceress but chickened out.

But I know I should. The Sorceress and Necromancer class changes the gameplay significantly, I believe.
