Treyarch has revealed details on Call of Duty: World at War, previously known as Call of Duty 5. Unlike Call of Duty 1, 2 and 4, which were developed by Infinity Ward, World at War is being developed by Treyarch, the developer of Call of Duty 3, and will return The FPS franchise to its WWII roots. Treyarch also revealed to the Official Xbox Magazine that the next Call of Duty will, for the first time, support 4 player co-op over Xbox Live.

Activision Blizzard has just confirmed that Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero 4 are both in development just hours after news of the company’s merger hit the wire. A member of the COD4 Forums has (somehow) come into possession of a list of potential features the game may feature when it is finally released in Q3 of this year. The game is a departure of tradition for the series which, prior to this game, had focused of WWII combat. Among the potential features the game may include on launch are:
