Sacred 2: Fallen Angel release date moved

Bummer. The developers of Sacred, Ascaron, has announced a new release date for SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel. The announcement sees both PC and Xbox 360 versions scheduled for release in September 2008.
Ascaron says the additional time is to be used for optimizing the crucial areas of multiplayer gameplay and balancing. Planning for a longer and in-depth beta test, which is subdivided into several different phases, is already underway.
Almost a year in delay? Methinks that the original code was crappy. Hopefully, the end product will be much much better.

EU approves tax breaks for games

EU approves tax breaks for games

The European Commission has approved the French government’s request to apply film industry tax breaks to the games industry. The move will allow for around a 20 per cent rebate on the cost of development for games that fall under qualifying criteria – and it is estimated that around half of all games developed this year would have qualified.
Both Tiga and the EGDF had argued strongly that such a move should go ahead, in order to help lessen the unbalancing effect that support from other countries such as Canada was having.
