EA and Maxis has announced a collect…err Galactic Edition for its upcoming life simulator Spore. While i am personally a big fan of extras packed inside a premium version of the game, i am a bigger fan of actual bonuses that enhances your gameplay such as additional parts, exclusive features or ingame bonuses that this package sadly lacks. I have no doubt that this will be gobbled up by excited consumers upon launch but i feel it is a missed opportunity of EA.

GameStation Sold to GAME

The European landscape for game retailers just became far competitive as European retailer GAME picked up formerly Blockbuster owned store GameStation for $150 million. According to the press release the all cash deal will be used by Blockbuster to pay off debts.
Blockbuster’s CEO John Antioco commented on the sale:

GameStop Releases Impressive Data

GameStop Releases Impressive Data

This week gaming retailer GameStop released its fiscal year numbers and they were impressive. The retailers revenue was up 72 percent over 2005 with total sales last year of $5.3 billion.
If you thought their overall numbers were impressive consider that they sold $2.3 billion in the fourth quarter alone showing signs that 2007 will likely be another impressive year for the chain as further releases hit next generation consoles and Wii sales continue to be strong.
