Guitar Hero: On Tour Sets Activision North American Retail Sales Record

Looks like another hit for Activision, who has just announced that Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS has sold in excess of 300,000 units in North America in the first seven days since its launch, making it the largest North American launch for the Nintendo DSTM in the company’s history by more than a factor of eight. In addition, Guitar Hero: On Tour’s performance ranks it as one of Activision’s top 5 best-selling launches of any title on any platform in the company’s history. Fire Emblem DS details

Fire Emblem DS details

Fire Emblem is indeed making its way to the DS, and the latest issue of Famitsu has the first solid details following the game’s announcement last year. The new title is reportedly similar to a translation of the japanese title -> Fire Emblem: New Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light , this first DS installment in the storied series is actually a remake of the original Fire Emblem. The basics of the game wont change much from the original (or its sequels, for that matter) as players alternate between event scenes and strategic battles.

Nintendo denies new DS rumor

Nintendo denies new DS rumor

Nintendo Japan has just flat out denied the possibility of a DS hardware revision for this year’s E3. Read that again…slowly. For this year’s E3. Remember that Nintendo is a company with a penchant for re-re-re-releasing hardware and software that becomes successful in the market. So it might not be this year’s E3 but anybody wanna bet that it’s coming down the road?
IGN says: “In response to an inquiry from Japan’s Yukan Fuji website about recent comments from Enterbrain president Hirokazu Hamamura regarding a possible redesign for the portable, Nintendo Japan’s head of PR said, “We cannot comment on the …read more
