Sonic & The Black Knight unveiled

A post over at Neogaf shows that the newest Sonic game is titled “Sonic and the Black Knight” and features Sonic holding a sword. Read that again for me. Sonic + Sword. I have no idea what goes on with Sega these days.

Here’s what we know so far: It is a Wii exclusive Sonic adventure and Sonic will indeed be holding/using that sword. At least it aint a gun…oh wait…

Sony CEO Howard Stringer has reportedly dismissed Nintendo’s Wii as an “expensive niche” games machine. Speaking at the Allen & Co Media Conference last week, Stringer said the Wii doesn’t compete with the PlayStation 3 because it doesn’t have the ability to play Blu-ray movies or have full access to the internet. THQ has recently released the cover art for the newest installment in their wrestling series and it features the infamous DX duo of Shawn Michaels and Triple H. This year’s version will feature more tag team specific content and features.

In an interview with IGN, Mike Capps, President of Epic Games, has publicly stated his disdain for Nintendo’s hit console. You might have read about other Epic executives saying not so good things about the Wii and this time is no different. God, I wish Miyamoto would shut these guys up for a change.

Nintendo Releasing the Nintendo Wii in Korea

Nintendo has just announced final plans for the Korean launch of the Wii. The worldwide hit will be released on the peninsula on the 26th. It will carry a price of 220,000 won, putting it about thirty dollars less than the US version of the system.
The Koreans won’t get Wii Sports included for free though. Nintendo will be offering that title along with Wii Play separately at launch, each costing 4,000 yen.

Come on Nintendo, we need a hard drive.

Hudson Profits to Rise Fourfold due to Nintendo

April 7 (Bloomberg) –Hudson Soft Co., controlled by Konami Corp., plans to boost profit almost fourfold within three years by focusing on video-game titles for Nintendo Co.’s Wii console.
The company targets operating profit of 10 billion yen ($97 million) as early as the year to March 2011, incoming President Michihiro Ishizuka said in an interview on March 26. Tokyo-based Hudson also intends to pay a dividend for the 12 months ending March 31, the first time in five years, he said.
