Blizzard to unveil new title at Worldwide Paris Invitational?

In advance of this weekend’s Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris, the frenzy of speculation around what the company’s “big announcement” would be has increased further with Blizzard’s VP of Design, Rob Pardo, hinting that it might be a brand new title.

Square-Enix’s next Wii game? Soul Eater.

Reports have come in that Square Enix’s Next Wii Game will be Atsushi Okubo’s manga series Soul Eater.
The latest issue of Famitsu Weekly reveals that Square Enix will be bringing Atsushi Okubo’s manga series Soul Eater to the Wii. The series, which will be adapted in video game form as Soul Eater: Monotone Princess, just began airing as an anime series.
The Wii version currently has no date, but looks to be on the action oriented side, rather than a more hardcore RPG.

Sins of a Solar Empire Expansion Imminent

According to Wired, Brad Wardell, president and CEO of Stardock, has just confirmed an expansion to Stardock’s popular space strategy game: Sins of a Solar Empire. While the Ironclad games developed expansion doesn’t have a release date, it is reportedly coming in the “reasonably near future.”
Wardell said the expansion would feature a campaign mode, something gamers clamored for in the original iteration, as well as new playable factions.

It is rumored that the Playstation 2 (and 3) SRPG series Disgaea will be showing up on Nintendo’s handheld. Gaming site Akayuki has uncovered a tiny tidbit in the latest Famitsu that seems to point to the existence of a DS version of the cult hit that is set to be called Disgaea DS: Prince. Sadly, no screens nor game information is shown, just a short mention in the article text.

We all know it will come soon but it is still news when Valve drops actual verbal evidence that indeed, Portal 2 is coming: “Valve’s superlative first-person puzzler scooped the top prize at this year’s Game Developer’s Choice Awards and, in a post-acceptance interview, Swift spoke briefly about a follow-up, saying, “I believe [Valve Community Manager] Doug Lombardi has announced a sequel”. Lombardi has indeed spoken about a second Portal game, saying last January that “There’ll be more Portal, for sure. But the details of that, to be honest, we’re still working out.”

Microsoft dispels Halo Wars PC news

We know that Microsoft’s Ensemble Studios is hard at work on the next fix in the franchise – the Halo Wars real-time strategy game but if a report on the gaming web site Angry Pixel is to be believed, the final game will support cross-platform play between the Xbox 360 and PC versions. Yep, we know – a PC version of Halo Wars hasn’t even been announced yet. We’ll let Angry Pixel explain:

Factor 5 back in Nintendo’s camp

Looks like one prodigal son or developer is back in Nintendo’s camp: The developer of the hit GameCube series Rogue Squadron is back. In a phone conversation with IGN Wii this morning, company president Julian Eggebrecht confirmed that the studio is underway with at least one all-new Wii project — and it’s not a Virtual Console game.
Beyond that confirmation, Eggebrecht was mum, but he did note that the new title would not simply re-use old Rogue Squadron tech; whatever it is, significantly updated or even completely new tech has been developed to help accommodate it.
