No word on whether or not this will market to market or when such a move would hypothetically happen. It would be a logical move for Microsoft to introduce an Xbox variant to drum up some increased sales against the newer Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3. The Nintendo Wii will be releasing variants of the console in red and black in the immediate future although no specifics such as dates or quantities were released. This follows most of nintendo recent consoles (think N64 to present) which were offered with varying colors in an attempt to appeal to a broader audience.
I am sure this is just the start of the color releases for the Wii and I would expect to see some others (perhaps a blue) announced soon as well.

In an interview with Game/Life the Unreal 3 Engine creators talk about their plays for the Wii. Here is an exerpt about it from their interview:

After reading a story on Digg I decided to look into this issus. Gamestop.com as well as GameStop and EB Games stores are selling their own “premium” Nintendo Wii component cables for $49.99. The problem is that they aren’t selling Nintendo’s $29.99 version because they are “Out of Stock” and are on a backorder list.
My view? I think everyone can see pretty clearly that it looks like GameStop is in fact price gouging their customers on Wii cables. Makes me wonder if they’e doing it on anything else. I have NEVER been a fan of Game Stop because every time I go I feel like …read more

Jack Tretton the CEO and President of Sony Computer Entertainment America has gone on a PR sprint of sorts defending the PS3 as the dominant console and saying that they are  essentially being rooted against and being put up against unrealistic standards. So lets break down some key parts of the article.

Dan Aykroyd, one of the actors from the original series of Shosbusters movies has publicly said that he will be lending his voice to a new Ghostbusters game. According to the Edmonton Sun he will not be doing the voice and motion capture until next year which means a late 2008 release for the game is possible but 2009 is probably more likely.

Tony Smith of Reg Hardware is reporting that Sony is planning on cutting up to 25% off the price of the new Playstation 3 within 12 months of its March 23rd European launch. The forecast is for Sony to cut up to or more than 150 Euros off of the 599 Euro starting price for the console.
