Video game data firm Games Tracker which collects and distributes information on the gaming industry is trying to find the source of a leak that sent data into the wild that was supposed to be kept quiet. The data shows that the Wii is outselling the PS3 by a pretty big margin. Here’s part of a writeup by Kikizo about the data:

The RumorReporter has got his hands on lists of GameStop’s Wii and DS release dates which confirm some games as well as give us an estimate on their arrival date. A quick look at the lists (embedded below) has some game stand out. Notable DS released include Simpsons: The Game, Jam Session, and Phantom Hourglass. I am trying to get in a rythm with the blog and I haven’t found it just yet so this post is a day late but I wanted to pass along details of yesterday’s virtual console releases on the Wii. We got three releases this week of some pretty average games but hey, we can’t have great games released every Monday now can we?

In a recent interview with Gamasutra, Xfire’s CEO Mike Cassidy had some interesting news about the instant messaging and gaming stats company potentially coming to the Wii. Here’s an excerpt from the interview:

For the past 3-4 hours I’ve been researching, standing in line, and eventually purchasing a Nintendo Wii at my local Wal-Mart. I originally intended to go to Toys’R’Us after I read of their Wii shipment on Joystiq but I decided to do a little digging and found out Wal-Mart was going to have them as well meaning I could save some gas money and get my system a little earlier.
Here’s the stats I have from my Wal-Mart:

Norwegian Cruise Lines have announced that they have the added the Wii on their American cruise ships and plan on rolling out the console on all their ships by the end of April offering another form of entertainment for kids, parents, and grandparents alike. Sonic and Mario will both be hitting the gaming market before the end of the year and it will be on the same game. The perennial favorite of gamers from 1 to 100 will join forces for a game based on the Beijing Olympics which should be on store shelves this fall.
But it doesn’t stop there. Other charecters are to include Luigi, Yoshi, Tails, and Knuckles.
The game marks the first time the two characters and series will meet. The game will be on both the Wii and the DS.
